This was my first attempt lol.

    Tips i learnt:

Even if the recipe says to use x amount of icing when mixing, add it a sml amount at a time until u get the right consistency.

It is quite a time heavy project so i would just use a store made cheap cake as the base rather than waiting for your own to cook then completely cool.

And last tip would be to give most of them away. They are very dangerous to be sitting in the fridge

We'd like to make a slideshow of these cakes. If you'd like yours to be included could you email a pic to editor @ bubhub. com .au (without the spaces).

Or if you've pasted your pic in here and don't mind us copying it for the slideshow can you reply to say which one it is etc so we can?

    Thanks!!

I'd love it if you put mine in the slideshow!

As for the grass on the cake, it was just shredded coconut (not dessicated) and green food colour. Super easy

I posted the other night but the evil bubhub elves stole it!

    I will try again!

This is DS 2nd birthday cake

This is the cake I made to practice a 'cake smash' photo shoot with DD

and this is her 1st birthday/christening cake

Oh, and her OTHER 1st birthday cake (that we had on her actual birthday, even though there were only 8 people around to celebrate)

And last one, this was the practice run for her christening cake

Sometimes you just want pure white icing...

I hate the taste of butter and am vegan so it tastes yum to me. I've always used it and have had lots compliments on the taste of my cakes
You can also buy a pure white food dye.
