    WOW lovely cakes!! Can i ask what recipie for icing do you all use? DS is 5 in a week and im thinking of making a spider cake :-)

    Depends...I use all sorts
    Fondant
    Ganache
    Butter cream icing

    what kind of cake do you want to do??
    Fondant takes awhile to get the hang of,I still struggle with it.
    So would prob stick to buttercream icing

    If you're using buttercream I recommend finding shortening to use instead of butter, it is white so colours a lot better. I use shortening, pure icing sugar and a tiny bit of water depending what I'm piping. Otherwise, you can buy ready made Wilton icing in a huge tub for around $35. Good luck, it is addictive!

    I'd stick with buttercream. Shortening instead of butter is what I'd recommend too.
