System architect & does very well for himself .

Used to have his own painting & decorating business but decided to get into the IT racket & it paid it off. I did the same (software) & it paid off for me too.

I'm on $72k + car + iPhone + laptop + interstate travel + annual bonus + super. All up it would be around $100k annually. It'll do!

Wow...... it seems everyone's hubby is a manager or in mining.... if my hubby earned that much I would never go back to work and would still manage to live in luxury.

    DP is in construction. Dogger/rigger/scaffolder.
Wouldn't have a clue what he could earn a year as he normally has a few months off a year between jobs. He earns anywhere from $2000-$3500 in hand a week, plus whatever extras that job offers, eg, PIP, bonuses, etc.

Don't be! It means long hours, stress, time away from loved ones sometimes. And don't forget how much tax you get to pay!! No, everything has its price.

It's hard not to feel jealous when DH works away the majority of the year, in a very skilled position with training that most fail because it is so hard - yet earns bugger all.
The only saving grace is he is so damn happy and fulfilled in the job, which is a rarity in this world, but a pay that matched the work would be nice........
