DH is a private hospital midwife, don't know what he earns a year but base rate is $30-odd an hour plus midwife allowance. He doesn't earn much in the scheme of things given how hard he works but such is the profession he chose. He levels up each year though which is a pay rise, plus he gets another rise depending on what the union agreement says so at least we know he will get rises each year and it WILL get better.

Estimating print manager on 120k. Package includes phone and fuel card. He started in the company when he was 18 as an apprentice after year 12. Worked his way up through the ranks from 'floor walker' to 'carpet walker' and now is in a managerial position. No uni degrees. Just hard work.

Lift mechanic (sort of a specialised electrician). His base is about $65k I think but he does loads of overtime and gets about $90k.
