My DS1 hated everything to be honest, and just wanted to be held.
We have his old bouncer, and will be buying a swing (the one we used with DS1 was borrowed and is long gone now)...hopefully this baby takes to one of them

It really depends on what the baby likes. DS1 had a vibrating bouncer so when I had DS2 I bought another but he HATED it. I ended up buying a swing that swings back and forth and he really liked it. He used it up until he started to sit up a few months ago.

Our DS loved his bouncer, we used to bounce it with a foot *chuckle*. He hated the vibration function though, so we just never used it.

I think your baby will end up telling you. I had a swing and she hated it. I ended up getting a chair that vibrates and could manually rock from big w and that did the trick. I would recommend something that vibrates or does all if you can. So that all bases are covered.

I have a bouncer which has always worked well for us.
However if I had another bad sleeper I would have upgraded to a swing.

Edit: the bouncer also a vibrate option and music and lights too.

    Default My baby rocker

I researched many baby bouncers and baby rockers online and decided on the Bloom Coco Go lounger. It is a bouncer as well as a rocker and also has a little vibration unit underneath. I liked its design as well, they had a more sophisticated range of colours than most of the other tacky styles you find in the baby shops. Probably the main reason I bought it was for the folding design and carry bag, you can easily fold it away and take it with you to friends houses, or the park in an easy carry bag.

We were given a Fisher Price vibrating rainforest friends bouncer when DS was born. I thought the vibrating was a bit gimmicky but as he got older it was great - they change constantly what works for them. It was invaluable for me to have my hands free and get stuff done around the house and we moved house twice by the time he was 6 months and it was so good to be able to put him in that while we packed - he was happy in there without needing attention for at least 20 minutes (which is ages for a baby!).

My kids both used just a simple bouncer when they were tiny. It easily fitted in the bathroom on the floor and it was easy to take in the car if I was going to somewhere like my mum's for a few hours.

All of them are useful at different times. Go crazy with second hand ones so they are super cheap.

A Moses basket is great for taking bubba into the bathroom while you shower.
