If flashing your lights does the job and slows the driver down then the job is done. No need for a fine! I dated a guy who did stats for the police and he said it is known that the police don't target accident prone areas and that the stats were mostly about working out good areas to raise high $$$ amounts. If they wanted to really reduce speeding there would be more fixed cameras, speed humps, circles and traffic lights. The hand held movable cameras are there primarily to raise revenue!

My DP is a police officer and they are given stats to meet for EVERYTHING. So they're always doing RBT or speed checks at hot spots as they need to get their own stats up...

Guess it depends where you are I suppose!

To answer my own question, yes, I do flash. I'm not going to flash someone doing 100km in a 60km zone, because that really is just stupidity on their behalf and I hope they get fined. But even I somtimes creep 5km over speed limits without realising, if I see someone I think it doing a bit over, or even the speed limit I will flash to caution them.

I do sometimes. Usually if I am on a quieter road. Most people I see appear to be doing the limit of just over. I wouldn't flash if I saw someone going ridiculously fast.

I flash for hazards on the road. Not for speed cameras though

    me too hehe

Only once because it's a pr1ck of a street. The cops shouldn't have put one there anyway (the visibility needed wouldn't have been there)

Nope, im going to do any favours for anyone who is making the road unsafe, i drive with my children in the car, these morons can get everything coming to them.

Flash my light, car slows down, passes camera, does a little 'haha, got away with that one', speeds up....yeah, nah i would rather not be a part of that thanks.
