Default Need Advice-in Thailand, 3 year old has fever & her HEART RACING LIKE CRAZY

    Hi, I need help!!

Im in Thailand.. been here 4 days. My 2 little girls have been run down the whole time, not eating well.. lots of activities...

Anyway my 3 year old went to bed early tonight with a temperature. We've given her a cold bath because she woke up soooo hot... went back to sleep. Her heart is racing so fast, in her sleep. My partner and I are freaking out. Not sure if we need to contact a doctor?

Is severely fast heart racing normal with temperate???

Hi there, I know in adults a high temp gives a high heart rate, I assume this is the same with kids. Maybe she has an infection of some kind, I would take her to the doctors to be on the safe side.

Your Hotel should be able to help you seek medical advice. Good luck.

I just wanted wanted to add that the fast heart rate could also be a sign of dehydration so please make sure you keep ip her fluids. If you can't get hydralite, try some powerade.

Also, a cold bath will only make her worse. (cold extremities will make her shiver/try to warm up further). Just use a washcloth to wipe her down.

Hope she is feeling better tomorrow.

    .
I meant to add this and completely forgot. Also just a room temperature cloth not a cold one.

Also get hubby to run out and get some panadol/nurophen. Take her to a gp in the morning. If you are really worried, hotel staff may be able to help organize a dr to come to you

A damp flannel on her head will help
