I often wonder why some women get pregnant while exclusively b/feeding and others don't at all?

Especially curious how women can get pregnant when their babies are a few months old etc..

You ovulate before your period, so even if you haven't had af yet, you may be ovulating. From the research I've done, you need to be feeding 3 hourly 24/7 to stop ovulation. If you have a bubba who goes for longer stretches between feeds you have a greater chance

Yes, but DS was 11 months old and was starting to self-wean so he certainly wasn't feeding heaps. Also I'd had my period back since he was 6 months old - despite demand feeding him. Lucky me

Yeah I was breastfeeding and found out I was pregnant with my 5th.
And I got my period back at 6 weeks after my 5ths birth... I'm always paranoid about getting pregnant again

This! I got pregnant 5 months PP while demand feeding. DD always had one long sleep between feeds from 7pm (from 3/4 weeks, she slept from 7-11 or 12), I think this is why I got AF at 4 months.

I have twice, but was TTCing. I think BF is a 98% effective form of contraception as long as you are exclusively breastfeeding, have not had AF and baby is under 6months old. Obviously there's 2% that doesn't cover, lol, so if you don't want to get pregnant, use back up!
