Default Question for those who have done optifast?

Did you drink just 3 shakes a day plus the veg?
Or did your doctor recommend you have extra shakes?
Im trying to work out why in America they are on 800-900 cals on optifast but if you follow the Australian one it's only 450cals plus veg which is close to nothing.

I did just shakes for 5 weeks and lost 8 kilos I'm trying to get back into them because I felt fantastic.
The first week is the hardest, heaps easier after that. And make sure you keep up your fluids.

Oh how I loathe optifast... I had to do it for two weeks pre-surgery. I couldn't stick to it properly. I had a little bit of pumpkin and a small piece of chicken breast for dinner each night with my veggie allowance, and had shakes or bars for breakfast and lunch.

Even with doing it that way, I still lost 7.6kgs in two weeks! If only I could stand the taste of it now...
