Anyone finding science experiments around the house?

Yes, but it an actual experiment. DD claims she has made a new moisturiser which is in a plastic test tube. I'm hoping it's just soap, but since the last time she used the test tube she hocked up some lung butter, I don't think I want to know.

DD has also just created her own language and a VIP pass system to get into her room.

My best moment would have to be when I took ds to his private school interview, I had been explaining we were going to talk to mr stewart. 5 mins before the inter view he starts running around the foyer yelling ' I DONT WANT TO TALK TO MR STUPID!'

I can only assume the fact that he could say that at 2.5 worked in his favour, as he was accepted

My DS is constantly hurting himself, so I expect to be signing a fair few accident reports over the years!

We used to have a baby gate for the kitchen, next to the very tall breakfast bar, so we assumed it was impossible for him to actually enter the kitchen unless the gate was open. However, when he was very, very young he pushed his highchair up against the wall, scaled the breakfast bar (!) and I found him pulling a knife out of the knife block. I had only been out of the room for about 2 minutes Now all knives are not only up very high, but the cupboard they are in is also locked.

Oh and I definitely recommend a Houdini strap for those who have issues in the car with their little ones getting their arms out. I told my DS to keep his arms in a million times, it wasn't until he crawled up next to me on the highway, perched on the centre console, that I realised further measures needed to be taken He got both arms out and then managed to unbuckle himself... He's sending me grey!

Hehe I remember the old baby gate problems mine would shake it until the bolts came out of the wall! He also used to bring various objects over to boost him up to escape. Alcatraz couldnt contain my kid!

As an infant I was told swaddling is a life saver... My child was Houdini when it came to swaddles. I would sit back, proud and content with my swaddling and see his big eyes looking up innocently at me. Content, i would return to folding the washing and within 2 mins he would be sprawled out again in his bassinet - the swaddle would be in a rejective heap at the base and he would be looking rather proud of himself *sigh*

I just came out from getting dressed to find my 2 year old sitting on the kitchen bench with cup of mini Oreos. They were on top of the fridge prior to that.

I have 3 spirited little darlings , they get up to all sorts of stuff like hanging out of huge trees and falling out of them too and never want to play on the fort they want to be on top of it, fine for 10 yr olds but 2 and 4 nooo. I have to use a houdini clip to keep them in any seat or pram ,that little device is my lifesaver!
They have no fear and will run off anywhere to go play or look at something ( would love to know how some mothers get their kids to stand quietly next to them lol) and they always want to go faster ,in the car or on the motor bikes.
They think they can swim and will jump in water anywhere and i think i need a swivel attachment for my head just to make it easier for when I have to keep darting my head from side to side keeping an eye on them all haha

The ones here are experiments, too. She now has oil in a little cup in the freezer. She wants to see if olive oil freezes lol.
