Default Logan Hospital doesn't have a bath...

    Just having a small vent...

I was really wanting a water birth this time cause I'm a real water lover and thought It'd be great and calming! but found out today that Logan hospital doesn't have baths... it's our closest hospital, so I don't want to risk going to another one... a little dissapointed Not sure what to do...

I'm sorry to hear that. I think you will find that this is actually quite common though - a lot of hospitals either don't have baths or don't allow the baby to be born IN the bath (labour only)...or they only have one bath, so it's a case of first in, first served.

If you want a waterbirth, the best way to ensure that you get it is to have a homebirth - is that an option? It might even be worth it to look into a birth centre.

Logan hospital is supposed to be getting baths in every delivery room but due to lack of government funding they haven't got them yet. They will not allow you to take your own as they do not do water births. There is one bath in the maternity ward that you can ask to be in while in labor but there is no guarentee you will be able to use it.

I think Redlands may have bathing facilities? You would have to check with them.

Logan hospital does have 1 bath, but it's a community bath in the labour ward so pretty much first in first served. I had both my boys at Logan and will have this baby there too, but didn't bother with the bath. Each birth sweet has a shower though, I made great use of that, it was great!
