haven't read all the replies so sorry if I am doubling up.

Its nice to get the mum something. Like creams, bath things, voucher, etc

For bub perhaps a health/first aid pack include: Baby panadole, nail clippers, tooth brish, temperature thing, some cute bandaids, some natural safe product etc.

    The essentials are always great.

Large sized clothing like 00, 0, 1. Everyone bombards the expecting mother with newborn clothes which she never gets through and ends up with few or little larger clothes for when bub grows.

I suppose things for down the track like feeding things, books etc.

    Hope that helps

I'm having a Tupperware baby shower in a few weeks. There are some great baby/kid products that guests can help me achieve on the day instead of buying baby clothes etc that we already have.

When I had my baby shower all my friends knew what an organisational freak I am so they knew I didnt really need anything so they all put in and got me a voucher for the baby store as they knew I wanted to get a breast pump. So if theres someone in particular organising it for you I'd just get them to spread the word that you want vouchers for a particular store.
Otherwise I know it sounds a bit bad but a few things that I were given doubles and even triples of I took back to the store and exchanged for things that I still needed/wanted.

Just an idea, but I was just reading online about asking for a cleaning/babysitting/cooking IOU.
You could ask each of your friends to make a little coupon to give you for when bubs arrives.
My sis has 3 kids and I made her a babysitting voucher as part of her christmas present and she loved it.
Just an idea though, might not be something your in to.
