Yep, start screening calls. Caller id is the way to go. If you accidentally pick up, tell her 'I'm sorry but I'm really busy right now and don't have time to talk.'

If this is a 'new kind of friendship' then I'm all for adopting the traditionalist approach.

Gosh this woman sounds like my old landlord, she would ring us 2 or more times a day just to talk and you could not get off the phone to her without hanging up. Then later she started to rock up at our house (lucky you dont get that OP) and hang around, til she turned up drunk one day and we had to call her family to come get her. After that I answered the phone with gotta go and hang up and she got furious and started to be a B and even rung dh to complain that i was being rude to her. You could try getting a phone with caller ID then at least you will know it is her. Best of luck it is a horrible situation to be in.

I'd just cut her off and be like "WELLL ANYWAYYYYYYY! super busy better go!" and just hang up and then start screening calls, surely she can take a hint?
Or if she doesn't understand subtlety thennnnnn switch numbers?

    how odd...
