Cobar, NSW. Hubby is thinking of taking a job their.

What can you tell me about it, dont hold back need all the information so i can have a say in if we should make this move.

At the moment the position he is looking at is residential, as we have a new baby and dont want him to miss out on anything with her. We figure we can rent out our house and plan to come back by 2017 so our LO can start kindy and we can either move back into our house or sell and upgrade. We would consider FIFO for the right money.

The positon he is talking/looking about he applied for it through seek and they are now trying to arrnage a few days for us to go their and have a look around. If you have any other contacts or know some agencies that he should apply through that would be great. We dont want to take the first thing offered. He is an electrician by trade but normally works in industrial factories, so he doesnt have high voltage tickets or underground experience so we know he needs to get some experience up .

Thats for the extra information.

It seems a lot of places want the underground experience, but someone has to give you a break to get it eventually.

Does your partner do FIFO? I am worried about how it would affect our relationship.

Hi Kirsty, my husband is a diesel mechanic by trade, but didnt have any heavy machinery experience, and he applied for a job in Cobar only a few weeks ago, they asked him and me and the kids to drive up there and have a look at the town and have an interview. The town was heaps better than I was expecting, they have a few supermarkets, a subway, eagle boys, harvey norman, 2 primary school, heaps of playgroups for kids and a swimming centre.
My husband ended up getting the job, so we're in the process of packing up and moving at the moment.
