On a more serious note (lol), since he is sick, perhaps you can just cook him up a yummy dinner (or soup if he's really sick), treat him to a nice candlelit massage, and just have a relaxing night cuddling up with some movies?

I just spent $20 and got DP some of his favourite drinks and snacks for a hamper. They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach after all!

if he's sick, postpone Val's day.
DP and i have done that before-we've just made it another night and gone out for dinner etc. Less people to deal with too, cos restaurants are normally chokkas on Val's day dinner.
