    I definitely prefer weird/out-there names.

But the one that i'm about 99% positive i'll never get the chance to use, but really want to is 'lolita'.

But mostly because our generation would make her life hell i recon.

I would love to meet a kid named Homer for the exact reason you wouldn't name him that!! Homer S is like a relative to me :-)

Hmm i reckon she would be ok. I worked with a lolita and she never copped any flack for it? Maybe school age kids could be a different story, but then kids will be cruel no matter what

Ps lolli is a cute nn

I'm more worried about the kids parents tbh. I mean, sure kids are mean...but often the parents are worse (at least at several of the schools i've been to myself or sent the kids to :-/ )

I love lolli/y or lottie as a nickname.

[and thank you for sharing that you knew one! Was lolita her real name? Or Dolores? Cause that's what it was a nickname of prior to the book.]

I really like Derby/ Darby for a girl but would never use it.

I have also always liked the name Hermione but then stinking Harry Potter went and made it unusable.

Maude is another one I'll probably never use, although like it both as a name and as a historical nod to Britain's first female ruler. I struggle with the Matilda alternative because it seems to have been a little 'trendy' lately.

I really am a massive fan...I've been completely obsessed since I first started ready the books in the beginning of high school...

Nyphodora is an awesome name, but I prefer the nickname Tonks. I want it for myself, along with colour changing hair.

My DH has put his foot down to most of my name suggestions for 'future child' however I have convinced him that Helena and Harry are two perfectly good names and worthy of us using.

I love Lolita, but couldn't do it because of the book...I would judge anyone for calling their DD that though, I would just be jealous that I *can't* do it.

And well, would it make you feel better if I said I had absolutely no idea what book you are talking about?
