Default cracked nipples at 11 months???

DS is 11 months old and breastfed. except for issues with my milk not coming in until day 5 and nipple vasospasm, we havnt had any problems breastfeeding but the last few days it has been really hurting. last night i discovered some small cracks on my nipples. DS has had a cold for a week and we just spent 2 nights in hospital with croup so i thought maybe he hasnt ben attaching properly so he can breathe. also the only way i have been able to get him to sleep lately is to fed him to sleep (lots of comfort sucking) lying down in bed, when hes nearly asleep he isnt always fully attached but if it take the b0ob out he wakes up, cries and i have to start again.

i started putting Lasinoh (?sp) on again. will this heal the cracks? or do i need to rest my nipples (as in not feed from the worst side for a while) or use nipple sheilds?

i dont know what to do but every feed for the last few days, i have wanted to stop breastfeeding then and there, it hurt so much.

I copped a bite from my boy at 15 months, he was almost asleep and clamped down. It hurt to feed him, and left a nice cut, I just used breastmilk to heal it, and it was better in a few days.
