Default Recommendation for a lightweight pram

    Hi everyone

My DS is 6 months old. We have been using a StriderPlus pram, but find it too heavy and unwieldy for me.

I am looking for something simple, lightweight and safe. Something that is easy to fold and compact once folded.

We only really use it in the shopping centres and restaurants.

    Appreciate your ideas!

    AndysMummy

    What sort of price?

I love my MacLaren techno - had it 3 years and it's still going strong & is just a very nice stroller to push. It was about $400.

I have a Bebecare Mira, RRP is about $150 & it's good value, again a nice little stroller to push. But obvious quality differences between the two. Though they are manufactured by the same parent company. So almost identical dimensions. Though the wheels on the MacLaren are a lot bigger but the Mira is more compact when folded. They both weigh about 6-7kgs.

I have a strider plus too - definitely find that with a strider plus having a light weight pram as well is an essential.

Any of the Combi prams are great. You can get good specials on them online.

Unless your wanting to replace the strider altogether? Then I'd look at maybe a Baby Jogger city mini, it's a good compact & light pram, but also a good walking pram.

I'd say the baby jogger city mini.. Light, narrow, one handed fold.. Once I only need a single i'll be getting rid of my select for a mini

Thanks all! Still undecided whether to retain the StriderPlus and buy a second cheaper pram; or try to sell it and replace it with a more expensive one.... thanks for the suggestions, will have a look at them

We just bought a City Mini. It's only 7.6kg and everything else we looked at was 11 to 14kg - and that was after telling sales reps we only wanted to view lightweight prams. Its folding mechanism is amazing, too.

City Mini it is then! Just ordered one. Hubby seems even happier than I am - he hates getting the Strider Plus in and out of the car boot (and the folding/unfolding process).
