    Default Hello homophobia

I had my first experience with someone being homophobic on bub hub today. I'm more surprised than offended, she sounded educated and so i am surprised that such an opinion can be expressed which has no basis in either facts or on me personally.

It has been such a long time since i've experienced homophobia i think i may have underestimated it's existance... I live my life expecting to be taken at face value and I am. Or perhaps people are too frightened to voice their views to my face or publically and bubhub is an easy way to say it without consequence?

Yeah it still exists, it's shocking. I see it on this forum and it amazes me that people are still so backward. Hugs honey.

Anyone that backwards is not worth your time or consideration.

Think of the Westborough (sp?) baptist church in the USA, the mother is incredibly intelligent and educated, just completely screwed in the head.

I'm disgusted and disappointed people can still hold these opinions.

I was just reading a post claiming that children get 'daddy issues' without a father and I was thinking what rot. Studies have shown the opposite, no reputable study has EVER shown a child of gay parents to be lacking in any way. I do wish people would look at facts.

I see it HEAPS on here. I know it's immature but I make a mental note of who they are and avoid their posts because I'd hate to stoop as low as some people.
In regards to 'daddy issues' I know about fifty people with daddy issues and they all have fathers loly daughter will hopefully be close enough to us that she can talk about any issues that arise and we can sort them out. Kids need positive role models regardless of gender.

It's alive and well in BH Land, as is blatant racism. I find it sad in this day and age that people with those views are still so closed minded and unwilling to see people as people instead of defining them by sexuality, race or skin colour.

I just hope there are more people raising children who don't view the world like that, so that in a generation or three, it won't even be an issue.

Wouldn't it be great to live in a world where who you are married to or the colour of your skin didn't matter?

I was so upset this morning by the story about Ellen Degeneres and the hate campaign against her by One Million Mums. I know a few mums who fight tooth and nail for their children to be treated equally. Movements like One Million Mums are NOT representative of how most mums think/feel about their children

    To quote Californication:

Never argue with an idiot. He'll drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
Forget them. You're a million times the person than anyone that small minded is ever going to be.
