Thanks everyone! I think I'll add a bit of juice to the water and just do my best to drink as much as I can.

Never had to drink 1L before and never had a problem, so sure if I only get 600mL or so down it should be ok

I was told any liquid because it's just to fill your bladder. I started drinking 2 hours before my scan and just went to the toilet to let a bit out when I got uncomfortable and they had no probs with doing the scan. I went to the toilet a few times while waiting for the scan cos they where half hour late ( I hate that!! ) I just didn't let it all out.
    Good luck

I would think any fluid would be ok, the important thing is to have a full bladder.

I had to have a litre too, but also a cup of tea and some coke! The tea and coke was to make him move as they couldn't see his heart on the previous scan!!! Lol
I love coke but it sure is hard to drink at 7am!
As long as you drink the most watery drink you can you'll be fine enjoy your scan!

I got told to drink 1 litre of water 1.5 hours before scan. if you're body weight is on the low side you won't need to take in as much.

each time I've gone I've had to empty my bladder because that amount is too much for me. (the lady said to do a wee count to 5 and then stop). easier said than done when you're bursting!

I hate the taste of water but I just toughed it out and drank the litre. I think you would be best to squeeze lemon or put a little bit of juice in it to make it sweeter. Personally I think it's important to make sure you drink that litre because with my scan it actually made the world of difference. Our baby was really low down and in a complicated position and face down on top of that so it made it so difficult to complete the scan. I was told to empty my bladder and have a word to the baby to tell them to move. I did that and bingo they had rolled.
