    Default single and IUi

Hi I'm a single woman who wants to have a kid. I was looking at donor sperm and IUI.

I have a little information about both but I would like to know around what price am I looking at for this procedure and the sperm.

Can anyone give me a little information on IUI and prices?

Depends on the clinic you go to, they all have differing prices

The initial consult with our FS was $230.
    Further consults were $100.

Blood tests were about $130 each (I had 3)
Baseline scan was $220 (To check your ovaries, tubes, uterus etc)

For IUI it was $2600, that included sperm, medication, scans and tests during the 2WW.
If the cycle failed it was another fee of almost $1000.
For a successful cycle, you then pay for 2 more blood tests to check your HCG at $130each, plus a 7 weeks scan at $290.

Thank you RunningWithScissors it helps a lot. Is the $2600 with the sperm from someone you know or can it include from the sperm bank?

Sorry snoopin! I just saw your question

We used donor sperm from the clinic. If you use a known donor, you pay for the 'washing' only.. I'm not sure what the cost for that is!

Also if you don't do a medicated cycle, a little more comes off the cost. Some people choose not to use the meds, I did because it (very) slightly increases the odds .. we thought we'd take our 2-5% increase

Default single and wanting to be a mother

Hello, can anyone tell me which is better IUI or ICSI? I want to use donor sperm and have herd stories that ICSI has better success rate the first cycle. I am about to embark on my first attempt and would like to know any details.

I did 3 unsuccessful IUI cycles (2 negatives and 1 chemical pregnancy) and fell pregnant on my first ICSI cycle (and have 4 frosties too). So I am biased towards ICSI now even though I know IUi works for many people!

I swear there was no spearmint involved when they did mine!

Also, I spent about as much as an ICSI cycle on my 3 IUIs so it's only cost effective if it works first or second go!
