    Default Olive oil extract

Just wondering if anyone has or is taking olive oil extract and what they think of it. A friend recommended for me to take it as I seemed to have a constant cold while I was pregnant just thought I'd see if anyone else had thoughts on its benefits.

Do you mean olive leaf extract? I use it and it's great for the immune system I'm a bit slack so don't take it everyday like I probably should but if anyone around me has a cold or I feel one coming on I get onto it straight away and I haven't had a cold or flu for ages and haven't gotten sick at all this pregnancy but with my first I felt like I got everything and anything that was going around I just mix it with a little oj and drink it cos it's not very nice on it's own.

Olive leaf extract is wonderful stuff. Especially great to take through winter.

We prefer Olive Leaf Australia olive leaf extract as it is made from fresh picked leaves (I think others are made from dried leaves and therefore not as potent.) This one is however quite a strong flavour. Not necessarily unpleasant, but if you are sensitive to flavour I suggest trying Rochway Olive Leaf, it is much more palatable and also contains probiotics and other goodies.

I have not used it during pregnancy however, I would check with the naturopath at the health store to double check if it is safe to take while pregnant and at what dosage.

    HTH!
