    Default fasting after c/s?????

i just read all the posts on fasting before a c/s and nobody mentioned they couldn't eat after it....

bubby was delivered by c/s 7:58am monday then i was told i couldn't eat anything till i'd passed wind to make sure they hadn't touched my bowel or something like that....

9:00am TUESDAY morning rolled around (over 36hrs since i'd eaten ) and the lady came around with toast i lied and said i'd passed wind...i was starving!!!!!!!!!

was anyone else told not to eat after????

hope i didn't go through all that for nothing!!!!!!!

I had my c-section at 4.45am and then was given breakfast at 6am - I wasn't told about fasting or anything!

I was allowed to eat as soon as I felt like it, no fasting here either.

I had two C's, both early in the morning and I was eating dinner that night both times.

With the first one I had an emergency C around lunchtime and they bought me dinner in recovery.

I wasn't told to fast - can't remember when I ate but I don't think it was long though.

I remember getting told something about passing wind within 24 hours or they'd have to do...something. It was scary, whatever it was...so I made sure to inform them just as soon as i passed wind (it was a strange thing to just bring up...the midwife kinda just looked at me strangely...lol).

There was no specific "time-frame" for fasting for me...though they said they wouldn't bring me dinner. My c-sec was a bit after 10am. I ate breakfast the next morning, but didn't eat before that.

Luckily for me, I got an extra drip...because I kept vomitting. It kept my hunger at bay.
I've now lost 36kg thanks to the gastric sleeve!

I wasn't allowed to eat anything until that evening but they said it was related to the possibility of having more surgery. Otherwise I didn't think there was a problem.

I had my C-section at about 3.00pm and was allowed to eat a sandwich later that night - I cannot remember what time exactly, but I think it was pretty late. I am not sure if it was because the midwife who was regularly checking on me was sick of me asking if I could eat yet or not!
They did say I had to wait a bit and then to eat slowly to make sure I didn't get sick - but I was fine.
I was allowed water though as long as I sipped it slowly as soon as I got back to my room.
