Default SA birth certificates still discriminatory

I'm looking for information on who to cotact or who could help me.
Yesterday dp and I found out BDM will NOT put her on the birth certificate despite following the law concerning artificial insemination (we used a clinic) because we have only live together TWO YEARS when apparently you are only in a qualified relationship when it's 4 years+

This is bull****. They have therefore put me as mother and most probably put father unknown instead of implementing the new 'mother' and 'co-parent' option.
Despite us being together 4+ years.
If anyone in SA knows anyone who is involved in campaigning these things can you let me know

That's disgusting. I'd contact your MP and any local member of the Green Party. It shouldn't be something you have to fight for.

WOW! I never even considered that the SA laws would have a clause like that!!!!

I'm terribly sorry, it is total BS, DP and I have only recently fallen in the four year category and we've spent most of that TTC.

disgraceful. Be sure to let us know if there is a petition or anything similar, i'd certainly support having that rule overturned. What a violation of your rights and the rights of all same sex parents
