Default A Question for any Long Term Users of the Pill

    Hello Lovelies!

DP & I have decided to TTC bub # 2 (just last night in fact )

Anyway, I have been on the pill now coming up to 2 years. Not an issue for most people when TTC I know, however, I have skipped 99% of my periods for this whole time!!!!! I went back on the pill in April 2010 and since then, I have had probably 5 'periods' which lasted around 2-3 days each (usually 7 days on a normal cycle) and were not usually anything more than light brown (OLD!) blood. And the only reason I got those was because I either took a pill later than bang on midnight or I totally forgot to take it and missed one.

I have been taking Noromin since April and before that I was not using any BC. I had no problems conceiving DD back in 2005 despite using the pill, Depo then Implanon before falling pregnant. In fact, I fell pregnant with DD just 2 weeks after having my Implanon removed!!!!!

So I am just hoping that someone out there will have some positive feedback with a similar story... I am a bit worried that doing this to my body will have stuffed up my hormones and cycle SO much it may take months to get back into a normal cycle.

I took the pill for 7 years straight prior to conceiving my first, and I skipped my period all the time as well (I tended to skip ever 3 months...so 4 periods a year). My periods were weird when I did get them - some were crazy heavy, others were really light and only lasted a few days. Anyway, I fell pregnant within two weeks of going off the pill I have heard that your body just goes back to 'normal' after stopping the pill.

Ohhh this makes me feel better!!!!! I have been stressing about this for over a year now!!!! Phew!!! How did you find your first period after going off the pill though?? I have always had fairly heavy periods and a LOT of back pain etc... Which is why I skipped so long.... When I had my implaon removed I had no idea how to describe the pain, but now, since going through labour once I can safely say the pain was exactly what I experience during labor!!!! Not looking forward to that again if it happens!

I was on Noromin and I skipped every period. I stopped it in July last year and got a withdrawal bleed straight away..I have a shorter bleeding time now than I did before I started the pill..I used to bleed heavy for a whole week and now since being off the pill its about 4 days of light/medium flow...Cycles have been longer than usual especially this one. Im now up to CD54 and not pregnant but Im pretty confident that Ive got PCOS or something of the sort. Ive seen alot of women on here fall pregnant straight after coming off the pill.

The pill tricks your body into believing its pregnant so the 'period' you get on the pill isnt a real period. Theres no reason why your cycle wont go back to normal straight away so it doesnt take long for you to concieve!!!

Ohhh sorry to hear your having issues hon. I hope it's all sorted for you soon!!!!

I'm hoping this is just like when I conceived DD. Only 2 weeks after implaon removal and I was UTD!!!

Now my next issue will be actually having sex lol. DP works away in the mines 2:1 roster so getting to him when im ovulating might be a challenge lol

My first period since going off the pill was really weird...just three days of light bleeding the day after I stopped it, and minimal pain. Then I fell pregnant before getting another one.
