Thankyou everyone for the ideas. I was going to make it up today, but I'm so sick I don't think I'm going to make it out of the house!
    Thanks again everyone

I was a victim of Jan11 flood. We lost everything. We had a 6mnth old and a 2.5 year old. It was really hard emotionally.

The best thing you could give is support, lots and lots of emotional support.

We found the Coles/Kmart etc gift cards the best as we could buy groceries or clothing etc. it's hard to know exactly what you need in the early stages.

Other ideas, clothes, essentials (nappies, soap etc) all depending on what they lost really.

It is closed. But we can now get through. 150ks each way though. DHs boss wanted him to come in but I said it was too far to travel. So she is looking into getting the computer here instead. Glad your house didn't go under.

so sorry to hear your friends have lost everything.

when we experienced the dec 10 floods of north qld, one of the best things i honestly recieved was underwear.

hope insurance will cover everything for them.

I agree with underwear! My friends moving truck went up in flames and she said underwear was the main thing she needed.
