Default Starting out with cloth, a few questions

So I've decided to finally jump on the bandwagon and see what all the fuss is about.
I'm planning on buying a few ebay cheapies to start off with and watch out for sales on the more exxy brands.

Just a few questions though...[*] Snaps or velcro? Thinking long term but I guess I can always replace velcro but snaps will be more durable anyway?
[*] Do I want bamboo inserts for a pocket nappy or is microfleece ok to start with?
[*] Can anyone recommend a good ebay brand? DS is tall and skinny, not a particularly heavy wetter. A disposable would last 4 hours at least but I usually change around then anyway.

    Thanks ladies.

    Hi jonnysmama
I'm supposed to be cleaning so haven't got time for a long reply but just wanted to say on the Velcro vs snaps issue - go snaps. We have a few Velcro ones and DS has figured out how to take them off thankfully no poo smearing yet but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

We use baby beehinds and they are great.

Thanks Majestic Hiss. Good point about the velcro. I'd forgotten that DS loves to play with the velcro on everything. Yeah, no finger painting here yet either lol.

There are some great cheapies on eBay. They come up as brights and are cheeky munky brabd. The seller is something like Fred mason from memory. Based in Sydney and Is $40 for 10. I sold all my exy pea pods and bee hinds when I found these and bought 30! Can't recommend them highly enough. If you can't find them let me know and I'll find the link for you

Oh and yes bamboo inserts are great. I also get them at woollies if I run out of bamboo ones

Snaps are great. Means they don't all stick together in the wash.

Bamboo is awesome, but if you just want to see how you go, maybe just use whatever the eBay cheapies come with, be mindful of the increased frequency of changing required, particularly with microfiber.

Sorry cant advise on eBay brands.
    Hope you enjoy cloth

    Oh, found the nappies.
How often do you find microfibre ones need to be changed?
