Give them to your local Salvos and St Vinnies as they are the 2 main charities that are still working with floodies and no doubt are being inundated with new requests for assistance. State it's for flood affected people so they don't put it out for re-sale. Also I know last time local State Members were taking donations but if you're on GC I don't know how they would logistically get it up north (or down south) compared to when evac centres were in Bris etc.

    Hope that helps.

We were flood victims last year (lost the lot) we didn't get much help or support. However we found the only donations that we did receive were from several different churches. (not our church or religion) they were wonderful. I know in Brisbane Hill Song at my gravatt. Was fabulous. They will most likely travel. Very big church group (a few thousand) hope that helps

Hillsong were great, however they also quickly disbanded after initial flood assistance wore out.

Crazy mousse - if you are still requiring any assistance, contact Salvos Care Line, St Vinnies or Micah Projects in Bris as these companies all received federal and state gov $$$ to continue assisting. If you need kerbside collections at your house call 3403 8605 (mon-fri) and if you need gardening assistance call there too. Also I know Moorooka Lions and other local community groups are still very active in your area (based on your postcode) so if you do need genuine assistance call the number above and they can put you in touch with the right people. Yeronga Recovery Centre are also still operating and Fiona and Melinda are wonderful! (They also run a playgroup on Wednesdays)
