Thanks ladies for checking in. Today was not the news I'd hoped or even really expected. My HCG levels have started to decrease. They were around 5300 Friday and down to 5100 yesterday and now there seems to be more frequent bloody discharge so I think I'm starting to miscarry. I have U/S in an hour to confirm. Amazed they got me in today since I only rang about 4:20, telling myself I already know so why even bother going... I know that's not a helpful way of thinking but I'm totally devastated. I don't have any hope of a positive result at the scan and am shocked this has happened as I never expected any problems. Thank you all for your kind words

I have another update and am in such a confused state of emotion right now. Based on the blood test and the bleeding, it felt like miscarriage was starting as I had some faint cramping and the bleeding has increased slightly. However, ultrasound was a completely different story. Baby, yolk sac and heartbeat visible today. Dated at 6 weeks, 3 days and all looked healthy from an ultrasound point of view. There was a small blood spot near the gestational sac which could be one of the causes for bleeding and is really common. But the blood test worries me. So we are still not out of the danger zone yet but a healthy heartbeat is a good sign. I guess it'll be more blood tests and crossing fingers, toes and everything else for the next few weeks. Anyone else had this sort of hormone dip but everything else been fine?

Oh how confusing for you. I hope that you get some more comfort from follow up bloods and scans. My fingers are crossed for you and that you are a sticky bub.
