Hi. My DS was 7.8 pounds and I had one 00000 outfit which I brought him home from the hospital in and the rest 0000. He didn't go into 000 till about 3 months.
Good luck and all the best for your labor

DS was 6 pound something (2.9 kgs). He was in 0000 for at least 10 weeks and they were quite loose on him to begin with.
He had big feet though and was long so he could only we wear footless all in ones after a few weeks.
    Personally I wouldn't buy too many 5 x 0 as I don't think you'd get a lot of wear out of them.

My DS measured 7pound. Three days later when he was born he was 9lb 6oz.
0000 fit for the first few weeks then 000 till he was almost four months.
An assortment is good but 0000 is pretty much all you will need in the beginning
    Good luck with it all!!!

DD was 6lb 5oz ... everyone had told me not to bother with 0000 so I didn't and the closest shop that stocked baby clothes was >200kms away. We still fit into some 000 now!! We probably could've gone for the 5x0 but didn't bother.

I'd take mostly 0000 to the hospy but throw in some larger ones just in case.

    Goodluck!!

Same as all the pps! Dd was 7lb and the 0000 were perfect. She is still in them now (11 weeks) but will probably move to 000 in a couple of weeks.

One thing I have found was that all the 0000 seems to be a consistent size across shops but with the 000 some are small and some are quite large. So she can fit into some 000 now but others swim on her.

But 0000 for a newbie is perfect but you may want to chuck in a couple of 000 just in case your baby ends up bigger then predicted....it has happened!

DS was 6lb 11oz and we had to go out any buy 5x0's, all the 0000 were way too big for the first few weeks. Brands like Big W and Target and HUGE, my son is now 4.5 and still fits into a Big W size 3.
    Good luck with everything x

Ds weighed 4.3kg (9lb8oz) and long, he went straight into 000. He also never lost weight like most babies do, so by 3 weeks he was in mostly 00!

....and they told me I was having a small baby, ha ha ha !
