Don't know anyone with the name, but I think of girl when i hear it. It's beautiful either way though

Actually I know why i think girl... A friend little girl is aria and we sometimes call her ari for short

That was on our short list, for our son! It was the first thing DH said when our little boy was placed on my chest, though he didn't look like an Ari!! I still like it though and certainly for a boy!

Yep me too! I personally would only use it for a boy... but I can see how it sounds feminine, but would expect it to be short for something else if I heard it on a girl, IYKWIM?

In my DS's Bubhub group, a Mum named one of her twin boys Ari, suits him to a T.

We named our son Ari my gp tried to tell me it was a girls name but have only ever heard it being used for boys unless shortened for a girls name. We loved the Hebrew meaning and I'm a big fan of entourage also cos it wasn't a overly common name but not an unusual name either IYKWIM. now just trying to think of an equally awesome name for ds2 that is due in June

For those that named your son Ari, do you mind me asking what middle name you went with?

Some awesome responses guys! Hubby still really likes the name and still telling me he can only see it for a boy, unless its shortened from Aria, or Arianna for a girl.

If we do have a boy his middle name will be dennis we follow family traditions
