One of my boys midlename is Arie and he is named after my Dad who is Dutch. The Pead who resuscitated my boy was also called Ari and was a female. It's not uncommon in Europe. I love the name for little boys and could be a funky name for a girl

My granddads name birth name was Ari, it's a common male name in Holland. He changed it to Adrian when he came over here though, not sure why, I prefer Ari! Anyway, I also know of a little girl called Ari. I think it could suit either sex really.
