Nope. I don't hit my husband if he doesn't do as I like so why would I hit my children?

Yes on occasion and no I don't abuse my child it just when nothing else works I resort to it but you have to tell a child why you should never smack them and not explain to the child what they did and why they got certain concequence.

    No smacking here.

We give explanations, natural consequences & warnings & time out as a last resort.

1 2 3 magic for us. Works well. Occasional smacking but only for something that is life threatening and they are not listening eg I would rather them have a smack than have an electric shock.
I also find that toys in timeout works well, as in, you be naughty and you favorite toy goes into timeout.

To be fair though, our children are ..our children.. They are not adults and we don't treat them the same as a husband in any way. I don't get this argument.
I don't smack my kids but that's because I think it is a bad way to lead by example.. But I do things like say "you can't have your toy if you continue behaving that way" and I don't say those things to any adult in my life. I get cross and say "go and sit in your room".. Even if you don't believe in time out etc surely you don't discipline or parent your husband

Definitely not , I want to set a good example for my son, I think showing him violence of any kind is acceptable is just not how I want to raise him
