Yep, definitely a great idea - especially for a first time mother who may not have thought of every scenario. Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

The chocolate is a good idea - cute way to make it a little more fun

You could also do a 'booboo pack' - they are little ice packs in fun shapes can get them from baby stores.

Maybe a Sophie the giraffe toy? They're great for teething.

    I think it's a great idea though

THE best present I got when I had DD was a basket just like this. It was filled with nappy rash cream, a thermometer, panadol,a teething ring, bonjela, a little thing of wipes, a cuddly toy, some nail clippers and scissors and a little bottle of bubbly for me.

There was so many times that hamper saved me!

I think it's a splendid baby shower gift - and so will your friend when she reaches for the panadol instead of the car keys in the middle of the night....

I also think it's a great idea too

Although as a suggestion- if you do also go with the washes and shampoos and stuff- stay clear of supermarket brands like Johnson and Johnson. Most people I talk to say they hate the stuff (and for valid reasons) but with a little bit of research you can find the most awesome brands (personally I love dirty baby!)
