Did anyone see the poll on the msn site?

About 95% of the responses were 'no', to the question "Is homebirth safe?".

    I voted yes.

A few of my contacts on FB were talking about this, one even said the mother cared more about her status as a homebirther than about her baby, otherwise she wouldnt've risked the life of the babe by giving birth at home!

    My goodness!

    RIP to the beautiful woman

I just want to say how refreshing it is to have read 4 pages on this on a main****** parenting forum and no one has demonized this woman for her birth choice. I hope that this woman's family is surrounded by nothing but love and support for the years to come. my love to them all.

R.I.P to a beautiful woman for her Husband and children

I saw this on the news last night and it made me so angry. They were going on that OB's say a hospital birth is safer. Women can still die in hospital! Some medical emergencies, even if they happen in a hospital you may not survive!

    Shame on the media...

RIP to the poor woman and massive condolences to her family during this difficult time.

As sad as it sounds, I'm kinda anticipating the media to blame home births and the midwife involved, when even if it were a cardiac arrest that prematurely took her life, even a full resus team may not have saved her either

It doesn't say what her complications were.... Does anyone know what went wrong?

Short and sweet because I sent this from my iPhone.

I'd say they won't release details until the coroners report is completed and an investigation is carried out.
