    Hi Stork,

I just wrote a long email and lost it!.
I will list the agents I know of below. I read 'thaisurrogacyforum.com' which has heaps of IPS doing egg donation through surrogacy and there are 2 agents on their which many have used. If you read the thread under - 'surrogacy laws' you will find a very active thread on this military thing!

1- Megan Sainsbury - surrogacyconception.com.au (Perth)- Had twins via surrogacy in India. Has helped many Ips in Thailand. Uses ALL IVF clinic Dr Pisit.
2 - Janine Oakman - reproductive-solutions.com (uk or USA). Facilitator for an Agent called 'New Life'. New life use to use ALL ivf clinic but as they got so busy they decided to open their own actual ivf clinic last month with their own IVF Dr. At present do not know if this clinic will go ahead due to strict military requirements.
3 - Tammy Charles - allsurrogacyivfcom. Australian nurse had thai twins via surrogacy in Thailand. Is now an agent based in Bangkok. Nice website and facebook.
    4. Garuav - Melbourne based. Becomeparents.com / Bangkoksurrogacy.com. Emailed an IP from forum that used them for their children first in india and recently in Thailand. I had many emails with him. He is prompt, set out the fees upfront, would set up Skype with egg donors if I wanted. Never asked for a deposit to see donors. We nearly went with him. In the end we ended up going direct to the clinic.
5 - Cathy Sanchez. Popular with Australians as mentioned on forums a lot. She does though charge $500 for a consult which is crazy!. you can get all your information on everything by reading the forums. Add this on top of her agency fees. I disagree with this. I guess it is her way of either making money to the many enquiries or perhaps trying to cut off non serious enquiries. She also says you cannot have an egg donors contact as it is not feasible in years to come. Not true!. Many Ips including myself have our egg donors contact. They just have to be asked!. one reason we did not chose her. I mean atleast ask them. It is up to the egg donor!

    Bangkok based agencies -
IVFbangkok.com - Kay and Nina. website down. Previous to this Australian Agents use them to source their donors so it was quite popular.
NewLife - started India I believe and opened in Thailand. Was using ALL ivf clinic and very recently opened their own IVF clinic with Ivf Dr. Very popular agent used by many IPs on surrogacy forums and for egg donation. Has Caucasian egg donors on database too. Website currently down.

Going to post this incase I lose it a 2nd time!!!!! grrrrrrr

    Hi Stork,

Worldwide Fertility is not Cathy's company. They are a Bangkok clinic. Cathy is an 'Agent'. And yes it maybe the case that clinics cannot supply commercial surrogates or egg donors BUT only Agents can. It is not set in stone as yet. There is alot of info going around which maynot be correct. However don't stress. Just read that forum I listed in my previous post to keep yourself informed. There is an another Australian Agent as a member there if you read the thread ' surrogacylaws' and she is updating everyone. You must know yourself. Agents are nervous at the moment as they do not know if they are going to be contacted. Thai clinics have been audited and hence they are quickly removing info on their website pointing to any sort of paid service.

I'm sure you will be fine with payment. Is there a refund policy on your contract if it goes pear shaped. Let's hope things change for the better. Probably best not to pay anymore until you know more about the situation. That is your right.
How she can say things will proceed as before when she knows nothing more than the other agents actively reporting on the surrogacy forum I mentioned.
How can she say that. That is a total guess and remember this is their income so they hope for the best outcome most of all. It is a wait and see and be alert to the information coming in.

Rainbow - yes you need to take meds before you go. A cycle can be done within in 2 months. If you know exactly what a donor cycle entails you can go to the gp for your prescriptions. The problem is getting the scans. You could get a referral to a scan place but I would rather get a scan to check my lining thickness with a Fertility Specialist Dr. You need atleast 2 scans or maybe more. I think some FS charge you a 'donor' fee to manage you. Another money making thing!.. If you can find a FS that you just want to see to get scripts for and do a few scans as patient.

NB - Cathy Sanchez website is down also. I probably say they are changing wordings of their website to not say paid surrogacy or paid egg donation. So if things are the same and does not affect agents and agents will be the only ones allowed to supply egg donors and surrogates, why are so many offline!.. This includes big Thai Agencies as well.
So don't believe agents right now until you find out yourself. Sorry to be blunt but hate to see people get burnt right now.. sensitive situation.

Suspect surrogacy (and by association the donor situation) is going to get more complicated now the case of the left-behind twin is in the media in Thailand as well as Australia http://www.theage.com.au/national/au...731-zz3xp.html

How are you ladies doing? PetalsGalore, TwoCam, Lozby and others, how are you feeling? What's new with you? I miss hearing from you ladies.

Lozby - did you do another transfer before the Thai Military cracked down? What happened after the first transfer? I'm sorry I missed the update!

All the Thailand info/updates I've been able to Google has centered around
the surrogacy bill currently being drafted to prevent commercial surrogacy, which I'm presuming has also prevented commercial egg donation but I haven't been able to find anything outright mentioning the ban of commercial egg donation, as well as surrogacy. I was hoping to find something in writing about the ban on egg donation so I can have proper closure and bid farewell to all my dreams and options of going to Thailand. Right now only 99% of my Thailand dreams have been dashed. Cathie's Thailand Fertility agency has confirmed my cycle is cancelled but I'm dense and stubborn, and I'm still hoping for that .01% Are my Thailand donation dreams really 100% dead? In case it is, I'm now researching egg donation in other countries, and specifically, I'm looking for Asian donors. I'm going to try starting a new thread for Taiwan and I've asked a member from a separate thread for her Taiwan experience. Besides Taiwan and the USA, do you have any suggestions on other countries or alternatives (e.g. buying frozen from an egg bank and shipping it) or any other avenues what-so-ever for Asian donors?

I hope everyone is doing well!

    Default stork

Project stork, I have an asian friend who is doing her first donor egg cycle here in Aus. Would you be interested in cycling in Aus? I know Thailand is pretty much out, I doubt things there will ever go again how they have been these last 3 years. I have a friend starting his surro journey in Nepal with a local Nepalise donor, and also quite a few people looking into Mexico, you are able to get asian donors through these clinics, but very expensive.
Please PM me if you like. All the best

    M2B

Wondering if any of the former Thai agencies has a donor that you could fly to India for donation?

My2Babes - I just sent you a PM. Thank YOU!!!

TwoCam - I wondered the same but was too chicken to ask because I didn't want to get them in trouble, but at this point, it can't hurt. Thanks for mentioning it, TwoCam; I'll email Cathie now!

Hi everyone - I think people disappeared as the media was all over these forums when the Gammy story broke.

There is a much up to date forum on THAILAND egg donation and surrogacy:
thailandsurrogacy.forumotion.com. Google this and find the link if doesn't work here.
Unfortunately the law as it states is commercial egg donation is OUT. Surrogacy is definitely out unless it is a relative. All IP's have now chosen Mexico to obtain commercial egg donation and future surrogacy arrangements. The surrogacy forums are excellent to follow as a lot of IPS are same sex male couples and to have a surrogate carry their child they require an egg donor. Surrogacy Australia website is also a great source of information on current Thailand situation as they help many IPS already with pregnant surrogates exit Thailand.

But yes unfortunately commercial egg donation is out. VERY unfortunate for couples and especially those with an Asian background that require an Asian egg donor. As you know USA is exceptionally expensive to get an Asian egg donor. Their fee alone to the egg donor in USA is $10k plus!!!!!..

So I would not wait to see if Thailand is going to change this law. It is not. I would research other places. You are free to ask any other agents now on information. I keep up to date with the above Thailand forumotion message boards which was opened by 'Surrogacy Conceptions' Megan Sainsbury from Perth. She was one of the posters on another forum called Thailand surrogacy but this recently closed due to all the govt changes and to protect IPS privacy.
I find as an Agent she gives so much of her time giving free advice. She now is doing egg donation and surrogacy in Mexico and has always been many years with this in India for IPS. She is based in Perth.
BTW this is NOT promoting anyone.. We did not use her or any agents. You can email her on surrogacyconceptions.com.au and join her facebook on surrogacy Mexico where she has current information on the Thailand situation.
She has 2 Ip's now with their baby due in Thailand at the end of the year and they're now working for her as her ground people in Cancun. They are going for their second child. Megan and these IPS would be great to ask regarding Asian donors. They do have them in Cancun, a bit dearer I read.

Sorry no further info on Taiwan?. Would be fantastic if any Asian people in Australia would donate. Its very hard to find as I have heard some Asians do not like to donate their body parts. In saying that I always wondered why an Asian student, Thai or otherwise never answered our ads. Perhaps we should have approached universities or put ads up at cafes etc.

The laws should change in Australia. My opinion is surrogacy should be a paid service for such a generous, emotional and psychologically difficult thing to go through. Egg donation should not just be compensated for time, costs reimbursed - this too should be paid. It helps so many people in each way, and then hundreds would not be going overseas. Won't get into any debates.
Best wishes to everyone on their journeys.
