I'd be superp*#%ed if a friend or family member did that to me! I think it's rude and thoughtless to even consider it to be honest. It's your wedding, and your choice so your bridesmaids need to understand that, you can get a dress ordered or made in any other colour, why choose the one colour your SIL wants???

If you like the teal colour then I would go with that, I've worn some awful(to me) bridesmaids dresses but as a bridesmaid you should do what makes the bride happy.
I would wear a rainbow Pom Pom dress if that's what my friend wanted at her wedding

I didn't give my bridesmaids a choice. If they didn't like it, to bad - wasn't their day. Thankfully they loved them (and wear them clubbing now).

I'd ask her, or go with what you want.

I'd be annoyed. My SIL is actually using my exact same bridesmaid dresses

If you want teal, have it. Tell your Bridesmaids to suck it up.

It wouldn't bother me in the slightest, but I would definitely discuss it with your SIL first. If she doesn't mind then great, but if she does I would go with teal or pick a completely different colour. Dress colours aren't worth a family feud and I would hope your bridesmaids respect your choice!!

I'll absolutely be discussing it with her and I completely accept it if she wouldn't want me to use it... I have a particular bridesmaid who is beyond fussy. She point blank refuses to wear anything she doesn't like.. So to find something they like is a miracle. The other dress I've seen they all agree on is a 4 hour drive away.. I don't want to make them wear something they hate, hence trying to please them all.

    Thanks for the advice!!

Are they paying for the dresses? I could understand them wanting some say in it if they are. But if you are paying for the dresses, then sorry, but it's your choice. I would go with what you like, and if your bridesmaids don't like them, tough luck, its your day, not theirs.
That said, if I were your SIL, I wouldn't really care, maybe if you had gone with her whole colour sheme I would be a bit =\ but if it's just the colour of the dresses I don't see a problem. I would speak to her before making a decision though.

If you liked teal to begin with I would stay with that, its your wedding not your bridesmailds. We got married first and my SIL used the same celebrant we did which was fine but then used the same vowels we did, we weren't impressed!

My sil did this to me...it peed me off! I would choose something else! Her wedding was three months after ours! Her invitations were basically identical!
