    I think I'd be having a word with her. She may not realise how you feel about the situation, so you need to make it clear to her.

    Thanks everyone. I nagged DH till he called MIL and let her know how disappointed we were that she would do this to DD as she is going to cry the house down tomorrow and MIL said she will come get her at 11. yay.

    I'm still a bit angry purely because she ALWAYS does stuff like this. Sometimes it's like she just doesn't care. But anyway at least DD will be happy, that's all that matters to me!!

    I'm glad she is going to come at 11. I have had this happen quite a few times to my kids by family and by friends. It took a while for me to realise that the safest thing was to not say anything to the kids until it was at a point that nothing could change. It shouldn't have to be that way, but some people don't seem to either care or realise how much the kids get upset so it's the only way I can lessen the upset for them.
