Default Choosing a public hospital in Perth for VBAC

    Hi There

I just found out that I am pregnant again. I have twin boys who will be 4 next month.

I had an emergency C-section at 37+5 weeks due to pre-eclampsia

I delivered the boys at Osborne Park Hospital and had a really positive experience.

I would like to try for a VBAC this time.

Just wondering if anyone had a VBAC at Joondalup, KEMH or Osborne Park hospitals? And if so, was your decision supported by the midwives and OB?

I'm in the same boat and have decided to go to kaleeya hospital in east Freo (public)
They have hired 2 ob from the UK who are very pro vbac.

I'm 30mins away from there but don't care as I want and will have a vbac and if it gonna help my chances I don't mind how far away it is.

Thats great that Kaleeya have some pro-VBAC OB's now! I really hope that you get to have a VBAC.

I guess I should wait to see if its 1 or 2 babies this time round. Don't think there would be too many OBs that would support a VBAC for twins

Well I think I have decided on Joondalup.

If I attempt a VBAC and something goes wrong where I need an emergency C-section I would rather be in a larger hospital with 24hr theatre.

I really only want to be in hospital for 1 day max. so not bothered about sharing a room etc.

    Thanks for the info

My bestie had a VBAC (public) at Joondalup last year and it was a really positive experience for her and she was so pleased she was encouraged all along to go for it. Good luck

King Eddie has a VBAC centre. I had my twins there and was going to go there for my VBAC but we ended up being in Vic for it instead
