i had the exact same thing from week 8 until week 13 & i am sitting here typing this with my 5 month old boy……so i am sure you will be fine Atropos

I went to my OB when it started & he said, same as your doc, everything was fine blah blah & basically I would have to wait & see what happens but bleeding in pregnancy is actually quite common, much moreso than people would think.

So I waited & waited & the bleeding (brown spotting only, but every time i wiped) kept on happening.

At 11 weeks I had the Nuchal Translucancy ultrasound at a proper ultrasound place for women (this is important…try to find an US place for women & pregnancy such as Tara Imaging at Campbelltown or Sydney Ultrasound for women - they did all my ivf ultrasounds for my first pregnancy). And everything was fine & it seemed the blood was probably from the cervix.

    It stopped around week 13.

My doc told me its pretty common & bleeding does not mean there is anything to be worried about, but it does mean you should monitor things.

I am sure everything will be fine & my happy baby boy is proof that bleeding in pregnancy can sometimes just be one of those things that gives you a bit of a scare.

Let us know how you go & remember if you get a referral for an US you can have it wherever you want, not just the place they refer you to - the only thing is the price might be different in different places but if you go to a place that specialises in women, they will give you much more info about what is happening.

I have a feeling everything will be fine & congrats on your pregnancy

Thanks Wicket, I'm trying not to worry. The ms and tiredness are taking my mind off it! and this desperate need for kettle chips haha!
I have the referral for my nt scan, the Sydney women's us place sounds good but very pricey! Last time I went to bankstown medical imaging and they were quite informative- what is different about Sydney Women's? Is it worth the extra cash?
