This sounds very interesting - will have to research this.

I had to use a taxi once when my son was young & the car had broken down on a freeway. He was only a couple of weeks old & the taxi driver told me he didn't have a bolt & basically would not allow me to put my seat in. It was dark & wet & we were on the side of the road so I just got in & held him in my arms. That was the longest 5 minute drive of my life. So what I'm saying expect difficulties with the drivers if you try to put your own in as they don't want to waste time while you do it.

I would rather them turn the meter on and charge me than danger by child it happened at the airport once many years ago I told the driver to help me or get out or the way so I could get another cab he got the message

im a taxi driver in tassie and while we are exempt from the child restraint laws if you book far enough in advance we can provide a car seat. As a mum and a taxi driver i would be very offended and angry if a driver didnt allow me the time to put in my restraint.

all i can suggest for your friend is to perhaps get herself a regular taxi driver that she can perhaps ring direct or request a female driver through the base. Goodluck
