    Default Baby passing wind

Possibly a silly question, but how much is a "normal" amount for a FF newborn to f*rt/pass wind?
My 6 week old seems to pop off all the time! Lol
Sometimes they will be quite odorous and sometimes not, sometimes he seems to experience a bit of discomfort trying to "push them out" though I wouldn't say he's in real pain, but most often it just happens - the thing is more the amount he does it, I've been around friends kids and I don't remember them doing it as much...?

When my twins were newborns it was like fart city, and they were foul! A LC suggested that it may have been the fenugreek that I was on (I was BF)....and once I stopped that, so too did the farts.

I don't remember my kids doing it heaps (doesn't mean they didn't.... my memory isn't so good sometimes), but if everything else seems fine, it probably is.

Just like with adults, there is a huge variation of 'normal'

    Congratulations on your new bub

My son is formula fed and he was constantly letting them rip. Hes 5 months (has been doing it since a few days old) and still does it

Maybe consider putting your bub on natal probiotics. Especially If the gas is quite smelly its good indication that bub is not digesting the milk as well as he should. He is still on breast milk?

The probiotics for babies is a powder form that you can wet and paste on their cheek or mix with a bit of milk.

No he's a formula fed bub, which is what I thought was causing the wind.
He's been a bit better this last week, it's not happening quite as often & they're nowhere near as offensive, so I'm hoping it was just a phase
