Default Question, C-sect in public hospital?

I am hoping someone can answer my question (I'm curious - no plans for another bub yet!)...

I had an emergency c-section in August in a public hospital. If I want to have a c-section next time, can I do this via the public system or would I need to get a private OB?

I.e., I am not sure if the public system lets you say you want to have another c-section or whether they try to get you to have a VBAC.

    Thanks.

I went private with DD & wish I hadn't or wish I'd researched more ... I was induced at 38+5 and ended up with a cs. He said then and there "we will book you in now for your next one". I decided then and there I was going elsewhere!

I went public and they are all for vbac. Unfortunately things didn't work out.

I went back this time and now they won't let me try vba2c as their policy is only vbac after 1 ceasar.

I have managed to get into the Mater mothers (public) and be accepted as a vba2c even though out of the catchment.

It really depends on where you go & how hard you push for what you want.

    Whoops I totally misread this!!!

Yes, public system would have been MoRE than happy if I'd asked for an elective c/s!!
