My beautiful daughter was born with congenital hip dysplasia. She had a VanRosen splint fitted the day after her birth, and had to keep it on 24/7 for the first six weeks of her life.I don't know if this is what you mean?It keeps their hips in a set place so they can form properley. It isn't painful for them, just a bit uncomfortable.Cause their stuck in a starfish position. It is common in breech baby girls. But if its picked up straight away, the less time the poor little cherubs have to stay in them. Then they have to go for check ups with the orthopaedic surgeon every 3mths to check hips are still ok.
Hope this helps!![]()

My baby girl also had dysplasia and was in a pavolic harness for 3.5 months ... she is now a perfectly formed 2 year old with better hip joints than me. She also was in it 24/7 which was hard going (especially for bath time and through summer) but in the end in was well worth it.
Although we didn't nick name her kermit as her hips were at a 100 degree angle out to the side looking very frog like.
