2 hours OMG I don't have that patience!

I thought I'd let you all in on a little secret to bi pass all those automated voice commands.

You can say 'operator operator operator' until it says 'transferring you to an operator.

If it's a 'press 1 for this, press 2 for that' system just keep pressing '#' until it says 'transferring you to an operator'

Doesn't help if you've already spoken to an operator and been put on hold though sorry.

I did the '###' thing with the commonwealth recently. Spoke to a real person (who some how could see all the 'annoyed hashes' I'd entered) and upped my savings interest rate by 1%

2Hrs, 5 different Telstra consultants. I was ringing about my phone, on DPs name. He verified to four of the people, then had to leave so the fifth person asked for verification which i couldnt give so she refused to speak to me. I swore at her and hung up. DP rang back 30min later, got through within 5min, pt my name on the bill and got the problem resolved in 15min, grr that made me mad

i spend most of my working day on hold - I work as a PA for a financial planner so it kinda comes with the territory.

my worst recently was telstra - almost 2hrs while they reconnected us to the internet after cancelling the wrong broadband plan. Although I had cracked it so bad about the cancellation and then being told it would take 4days to restore our service that getting it back up in 2hrs probably wasn't all that long. I refused to get off the phone until we had internet.

Usual times are 15 to 20min (And that is calling on special numbers dedicated to adviser so not the number the general public calls on).

I was also on the phone to a friend at Centrelink and she had to put me on hold - I got lost in some Q somewhere and it took me about 15min to get back to her.

once i rang nrma and they said that there were 'no humans in attendance' due an emergency evacuation

When i got through later on I asked what was going on, did they have to evacuate due to floods or what (in brisbane last year)

The woman said no, they have to do emergency evacuation drills quite often as they get so many bomb threats

    *snigger*

the recorded message seriously said 'there are no humans in attendance'
