Default Is it neccessary to go from stage 1 formula to stage 2?

Is there any real difference? Do I need to change or can I stay on stage 1. I mix feed and have introduced some solids, so will it really make much of a difference.

If you have links to info I would really appreciate it.

If it is ok to link, mods???

    TIA

GP said it is, but said stage 3 is a scam. My GP is awesome compared to most, really young and knowledgable.

Both my babies are on stage 2.

Our stage 2 ( Karicare goat) had more iron and protein in it as they need extra as there is a big growth spurt from 6 months to about 18 months ( or that's what my naturopath said )

My health nurse said it didn't make a difference but we used stage 2 from 6-12 months anyway.

Stage 3 has vanilla flavoring so I didn't go there (Nan brand)

I thought by stage 3 they should be on cows milk anyway.
Thanks for the info. Wasn't sure if there was any real difference or if it was just a marketing ploy.

Exactly, stage 3 is a marketing ploy.

DS is 23 months and has stage 2 when he's off his food, but cows milk the rest of the time.

My paed said it made no difference, but there seems to be a variety of opinions and no really factual info that I've been able to find.

Stage 2 has more iron, which babies need more of from 6 months.

    No, it's not.
My eldest got really constipated from the extra iron so my GP advised me to put her back on stage 1. By that stage/age most bubs are getting the extra iron they need from solids anyway.
Do what you think is best for your bub
