Default What mayo is safe mayo?

Ok, so I can figure out that it's the raw egg in mayo or Caesar dressing etc which makes it a no go, but I've also read that most jars of mayo you buy in supermarkets are ok for some reason...

Why is that? What am I looking for on the label which makes it ok? My fav is Norganic Soya Mayo but the label states it contains whole egg and egg yolk...

What brands are you folks buying which seem ok?

    Thanks

Shelf mayo is pasteurised, so it's up to you whether you want to have it or not. I do.

Praise 97% fat free doesn't contain egg if you want to be extra careful.

Thanks MrsBeee, good tip on being pasteurized.

Fwiw, I just thought to check Norganic's website and they say that the egg in their golden soya mayo is not raw and is also pasteurized. I feel fine eating that

its only homemade mayo you have to be careful of, all shelf mayo has pasturized eggs (those that do contain egg)
