Default Who has a bunk bed for their kids?

I'm considering getting a bunk bed for the kids in a few months.
Just wondering if anyone's kids are in bunk beds and if they came across any problems with them. Also where did you get one from? I'm looking at a place called bunkers but they seem pretty pricy.

Any advice appreciated, I'm also concerned about the safety issues with bunk beds.

My kids (6 & 2) are in bunk beds and they love them. We bought then from fantastic furniture with really good pillow top mattresses for just over $900. So far no problems :-)

Is the 2 yr old on the bottom bed? Did you get side rails for the bottom?

I had a loft bed for my DS1 when he was 4. It was one of the Ikea ones so it was quite high. DS didn't particuarly like it but we didn't have much choice as we were living in a one bedroom house and had very limited space. We never had any problems with him falling out or anything.

I bought bunkbeds when we moved. I got the ones you can set up as 2 seperate single beds or put together as bunk beds. The kids were 3 and 5 (almost 6). I just got them from Amart. I can't remember exactly what they cost... i think $300 so? We never had any issues with the kids falling out or anything.
We've since moved to a 3 bed house so i have the beds set up as 2 singles... not that the kids sleep in their own beds anyway

I have bunks for my DD, they are second hand ones but lovely wooden ones, we bought it beceause the top lifts off to become a second single bed, inase we need it.

Currently my DD wil not go on the top bunk, she is terrefied of heights. But it has been good having extra floor space for he to play in.

    HTH

Yeah the 2yo is on the bottom bed and no I didn't get side rails. He'd been in a toddler bed for 3-4 months before going into the bunk though so he knows how not to fall out LOL.

Totally agree. Bottom bunk is fine, the top one can be tricky. I usually climb up there myself to do it.

Dd1 has a bunk bed from Bunkers. They are a bit more pricey than some of the others but they seem very sturdy. They have a great range of low and midline bunks that aren't so tall. They also have a number of colours and ways to paint the bunk. Dd just loves her bunk! The only downside is making the bed which is a bit of a pain, otherwise it's great!
