Fi and Summer, I also love the look and 'idea' of the MCN's (they are so cute these days) but not sure I am up for washing 10-12 nappies a day on top of everything else!

Scan went well today, baby measuring on track and OB could see good evidence from amount of amniotic fluid that she is peeing and therefore kidneys seem to be functioning well (1 kidney was slighted dilated at 19wk scan), cord blood flow also appears normal. We are having another private scan in 2 weeks to check on all of these things in detail but so far so good!

Summer, it is a really hard decision to make and your situation for transfer sounds incredibly difficult. We will also feel sooooo fortunate to even have 1 healthy baby after 5 years to get here. We do have 2 frozen embryos and because I have a very close bond with my sister I would really like my child to have a sibling, but I will completely accept it if it turns out we only have the 1 child.

Whether we will attempt another transfer really depends on how things progress with pregnancy and delivery of this bub. While everything looks pretty good at the moment I am considered a risk for a haemorrhage at birth and will be having a C-section. Worse case scenario is a hysterectomy, and then there is also the potential for scar tissue to reform in the uterus and needing to have even more surgeries to correct this, which I am not sure at this point I am up for. Anyway, cross that bridge when we come to it!

Have you packed your hospital bag now??

    Hi girls,
I just wanted to come on to say that as a former (and maybe soon again) long time ivfer we celebrated our miracle boy Ethan's 1st Birthday yesterday! I can't believe it's been a year already! It was an amazing day and I loved every second of it, I thought I'd be really emotional but I think I'm so thankful to have him in our lives that I was just thrilled to bits yesterday. Please excuse me doing the all about me bit first - just very excited :-) We only had a family lunch, we had to cancel his party for this weekend because he's had a virus for the past month which has involved choking, vomiting & coughing continually and meant countless Dr visits to the GP as well as his specialist but after tests it seems it really is just a virus and nothing more sinister thank goodness. He's quite well in himself but we cant risk making any other babies sick.

Starfish - I'm so glad your scan went well and your little girl is peeing - it is so exciting :-) I really am so thrilled for you. xxx

Summer - I feel for you, it is such a hard decision to make. For different reasons to you I'm also trying to decide about number 2. I dont even know if I can get pregnant again after 10 cycles to get Ethan & then if I do theres a 50% chance I'd deliver before 28 weeks, its a huge decision. We are over the moon with our miracle boy but would love him to have a sibling.

I dont want to jinx anyone and I have everything crossed that all of you make it safely to term - but I highly recommend packing your hospital bag as soon as possible. I never thought I needed to when I was only 23 weeks but was admitted to hospital at 23+4 and had Ethan 1 week later. I know it's not the "norm" but I was shocked at how many micro prems are born in Adelaide alone during our 4 month stay let alone Australia wide. I dont want to freak anyone out becaue I sincerely wish you all trouble free pregnancies, hopefully it's a case of if your bags packed early it wont be needed!

I dont get to check BH often because I spend most of the day playing with my little guy. I do check FB a lot though (it's easier for some reason from the phone) I'd love to keep in touch especially with the girls I've known a long time on various threads. If you're on FB and want to chat please send me a pm with your real name so I can add you as a FB friend, I'd love to show off photos of Ethan.

Take care everyone and wishing you all safe and happy pregnancies xxxx

As Lily said, if there are any long termers that want to keep in touch with me via Facebook....(it is really way easier with my limited time) then please pm me and will add you. I can't seem to get the pics on here working so I put them on fb instead.

lily, hoping Ethan is better soon, James can't wait for that play date!

im really sorry to read that some of you face the big H opp. It must be difficult. Since it took me 22 cycles and over 6 years to get my baby, the thought of more to try for a sibling seems daunting. But James is 7 months now and to be honest, I would give my right arm to experience that time again!

hope you all are doing well, keep us posted xx

    Wow I've missed a bit!

Lilybaby - wow Congratulations on Ethan's 1st Birthday! How exciting x

We're thinking about number 2 as well, our last cycle used a different technology and was infinitely more successful, so I'm hoping that means it will work next time.. We won't be trying as many cycles next time though. Probably 3 or 4 max I think.

Star - glad your scan went well!!!
    Hope you're going well Summer.

Lily and Marzi will PM you guys re Facebook, would love to see some pics!

Starf1sh - So glad to hear that your scan went well yay Sounds like you have a lot of tough decisions to make in the future too. I'm trying to live day to day and will be so happy when this little one is delivered and safe. You don't have long to go now either so exciting. How are you going? Has the heartburn settled down? Oh and yes I have finally packed my hospital bag

Lilybaby - Happy 1st birthday Ethan glad it was just a virus and nothing more sinister.

Thanks for your well wishes and advice girls.

AFM - Not long to go it seems unreal.

Summer, any day now! I can't recall if you were hoping for/ or if a natural delivery was an option?

Yes, the heartburn and indigestion has settled now my OB has intervened with the big guns of constipation medication We are having another scan today to check on bub's kidney and how everything is progressing (and hopefully get some more cute 3d pics)

If you are on facebook Summer a few of us have moved to a private group over there, let me know if you would like the details.
