That's excellent Starfish!!! So so happy for you! Are you starting to relax a little more now? (i know its hard but) Its so great having a posterior placenta...get to feel those little flutters early, then they gradually turn into full-blown kicks in the gut...YAH Bring it on!!!
As for the 2nd trimester 'burst of engery'...yeah NA!! Not for me either...got more tired as the pg progressed and yes lots of puffin & pantin! I also just did gentle walks and swimming, take it real easy....and there is absolutely no shame in having nanna naps everyday! Take care xx

Thanks girls for sharing your wisdom and experiences about exercise. I feel much more normal now! Of course now I have a cold which has really put the kibosh on exercise and I don't even have access to any decent drugs! Small price to pay really!

YY, it has been really reassuring to feel those little movements and kicks (and lovely that DH can feel them now too ) As for starting to relax... hmmm, the anxiety has really started to build again this week as our scan approaches on Monday. Feeling very excited about seeing bubba in 3D but of course worried that all will be as it should!

    How's everyone else doing?

Thanks so much Summer, Fiona and YY for your warm wishes

I was still a bundle of nerves this morning and even shed a tear when the sonographer started the scan, it was all so overwhelming, however all went really well. The measurements were great, there was just 1 slightly dilated kidney at 4.12mm when they prefer it under 4mm. I only know this as I pressed the sonographer about it when I noticed her go back to this a few times. She said that in the majority of cases the dilated kidney will resolve by the next scan, so we aren't too concerned at this stage.

I was soooooo pleased that there was no evidence of placenta accreta or previa and cervical length was normal

YY have I kept you in suspense long enough? We asked the sonographer to write the gender down and put it in an envelope so we could go to a nice cafe and discover the secret together away from a medical environment. She obviously had a sense of humour as she wrote it on the picture that had the money shot on it and it was a ......................HAMBURGER!

I am still in shock as we were expecting it to be a boy. Goes to show you can't rely on those highly evidenced based ractices of heart rate or the chinese gender calculator, but we are absolutely rapt to be having a beautiful baby girl!

I am obviously a very biased mama to be but I think this is possibly the sweetest face I have ever seen
